Just like Jack Palance

From John:

Quick Post today.

I was out in the front yard the other day and for some reason got in a Plank position while in the yard. On a whim I tried to do a one armed push up.

Now, in the middle of Chest, Shoulders and Triceps I've never been able to do one armed push ups. This exercise comes in about 2/3rds of the way through the workout and by then my arms and chest are pretty tired.

However on Sunday morning I was nice and well rested. I was able to crank out 5 or 6 one armed push ups with decent form. Its good to try out some of the moves you struggle with in your workouts when you're well rested. This changes your mindset from "I can't" to "yeah I can" real quickly!

  1. That is so true! I was joking around and showing my husband some of the Yoga moves (ones that I often struggle with during the routine) and my body, in a well rested state, reacted so much differently! I was able to some of the moves a lot easier. It was really surprising! Great point and awesome job with the one armed push ups!!

  6. Excellent idea! One of my favorite things to do is hop up and do a few chin ups/pull ups just out of the blue when I walk past our always-mounted pull up bar. It's amazing how much "easier" they seem when I'm not toasted from doing them during one of the videos. Plus..when we have company..it's a sure crowd pleaser. No one can believe little ole me-130 pound Jen-can do pull ups. What they failed to realize is that I'm packin' some MIGHTY LEAN MUSCLE MASS under my long-sleeves! Watch out Summer though..cuz I'm bustin out the tank tops soon! :o)
You should put up a P90X sign in your front yard and do your work outs out there--shirtless...I bet that'd earn you some new customers!! he he
